The Anchorage Inn Bed and Breakfast is a new Victorian Inn, located on beautiful Whidbey
Island, in Puget Sound, Washington. The Anchorage Inn is located in the historic town of
Coupeville, overlooking picturesque Penn Cove. Coupeville was home to many of the
Northwest's sea captains during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Many
historic homes still grace the streets of this North Whidbey town. The majority of the seven
lavishly appointed rooms provide splendid views of the cove, waterfront buildings, rolling hills
on Whidbey Island, nearby Camano Island, and 10,700 foot Mt. Baker.
There is much to do while you are enjoying your stay on Whidbey Island including bicycling,
hiking, bird watching, boating, fishing, exploring gardens, horseback riding, visiting parks,
wineries, and shopping. Other nearby attractions and activities include kayaking, visiting
Deception Pass Bridge and State Park, Ebey's Landing National Historic Reserve, Whidbey
Tours, Mariti Chocolate Company, and Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens.

This extra large guest room features a romantic four-poster king-size bed with a breathtaking
panoramic view of Penn Cove and the snow capped peaks of the Cascades.
Along with the breathtaking view is an electric fireplace with a wide screen television and
DVD/VCR player. $139 per night
Cabot (Room 2)
A queen-size bed adorned with a cozy quilt sits in front of the picture window in this charming
room with wonderful views of Penn Cove and glacier covered Mt. Baker. $119 per night
Fairhaven (Room 3)
Light and airy, this room features a cozy reading area and a queen-size bed. The bay window
offers a sunset view of Penn Cove and Historic Front Street. $129 per night
Onward (Room 4)
This romantic turret room, with it's 13 foot ceiling, features a four-poster queen-size bed and
views of historic Main Street and a partial view of the Cove. $109 per night
Burnham (Room 5)
Curl up and read a good book in the best wingback chairs in the house. This large corner
room features a comfortable king-size bed adorned with roses. $99 per night
Chalcedony (Room 6)
Our only first floor room is warm and intimate with a turn-of-the-century bachelor's armoire.
Rich fabrics of federal blue and mauve grace the queen-size bed. $89 per night
Crow's Nest Suite (Room 7)
A king-size bed awaits you in this extra large third floor room. Enjoy the romantic gas fireplace
and views of Penn Cove and Mt. Baker from the highest vantage point in town. $149 per night

Innkeeping 101 is designed to take away any fears and apprehensions of both men and
women. Some men are almost turned off when they hear the term B & B, let alone
innkeeping, for fear of loosing their independence or masculinity. Many women are swept off
their feet by the charm of it, unaware of the whole picture and what work is required.
The basic program includes:
We offer a 2 day hands on tutorial, where Dave and Dianne will work side by side with you
during your stay, with a detailed printed program covering everything from the greeting of
guests to bidding farewell at the door. In just 2 days, you will have helped cook and serve
breakfast, entertained, cleaned kitchen and rooms to AAA standards, learned tricks of the
trade, answered phone calls, seen how to keep records, had all your questions answered
and had some great laughs with us and guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided
and you'll be given the best rooms available at time of booking.
Directions:
FROM SEATTLE (by Ferry): Take I-5 North to Exit 189 (about a 35 minute drive). Follow the
signs to the Mukilteo ferry terminal and take a 20 minute ferry ride to Clinton. (Ferries leave
about every half hour). Then drive 28 miles from Clinton to Coupeville and turn right at the
pedestrian overpass onto N. Main Street. Drive about 9 blocks to the Anchorage Inn - a big
white Victorian house with a red roof on the right.
FROM SEATTLE (by car, about 30 minutes longer than the ferry): Drive I-5 North to Mt.
Vernon/Burlington, Exit 230. Go west on Hwy 20 and follow the signs to Whidbey Island.
Cross Deception Pass bridge and follow the signs to Coupeville. Turn left at the pedestrian
overpass onto N. Main Street.
FROM THE NORTH: Drive I-5 South to Mt. Vernon/Burlington, Exit 230. Go west on Hwy 20
and follow the signs to Whidbey Island. Cross Deception Pass bridge and follow the signs to
Coupeville. Turn left at the pedestrian overpass onto Main Street.
FROM THE WEST (see below) : Take the Port Townsend ferry to Keystone (a 30 minute
crossing). Turn left out of ferry landing onto Engle road. Follow this road into Coupeville.
Cross Hwy 20 to N. Main street.
* If you use the ferry, to or from Port Townsend, it is now recommended that you call and
make a reservation, since it only carries a maximum of 50 cars. You can make reservations
as far as 30 days in advance. You can do it online: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries. Click on
the "Make a reservation" button. You can also call toll-free in WA at 1-888-808-7977, or
206-464-6400 or 511 between 7am and 9pm.
* Once you've made a reservation, you'll receive a confirmation number that you must bring to
the terminal along with your driver's license.
* You may arrive at the terminal up to 90 minutes before departure time.
* You must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure or forfeit your reservation and move to
stand-by.
