private bed & breakfast suite or cottage suite and watch the clouds float over the Blue

Our grounds provide endless opportunities to commune with nature: stroll in the shade
along our spring-fed stream as the bluebirds swoop by, feed the goldfish in our two-tier
garden pond while listening to the cascading waters, and wander in our lovely gardens...
all the while surrounded by spectacular mountain views. When you are ready for more
activity, you can romp in the meadows with your favorite companions: Fox Hill is
recognized as a favorite pet friendly Shenandoah Valley, VA lodging “doggie destination”
by Hampton Roads Magazine. You can also bring your RC plane and take advantage of
our wide-open spaces and private RC airfield.
Tucked into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Fox Hill is the perfect base to
explore the delights of the Shenandoah Valley. We are conveniently located near the
Virginia Horse Center and the historic towns of Lexington and Staunton, Virginia, and will
be delighted to provide maps, suggestions, and itineraries for you. Also close by are the
Natural Bridge & Caverns, Washington & Lee University, Virginia Military Institute,
Stonewall Jackson House & Cemetery, Lime Kiln Theatre, and Rockbridge Vineyard are
all close by. There are many historic, cultural, and natural wonders to explore. Outdoor
activities abound: golf, hiking, fishing, horseback riding—gardens and vineyards—and
the shopping and dining are terrific, too!

Specifically designed to provide a relaxing getaway from the stress of modern life, Fox
Hill, a Blue Ridge Mountains bed and breakfast, was built in 1998, and combines modern
amenities with a rustic European country style.
The dining and sitting rooms feature vaulted wooden ceilings, roughcast walls with brick
accents, wide-plank flooring, a massive stone fireplace soaring two stories - and lots of
places for you to stretch out and unwind. A full range of accommodations awaits you. For
a unique and memorable alternative to Lexington, Virginia hotels - choose either the
classic Virginia bed and breakfast experience (rooms described below) or one of our
Cottage Suites with full kitchen. During some periods, B&B rooms may require a two-
night minimum stay.
The Devon— Enter your private suite from a wisteria-covered deck, kick off your shoes,
and sink into a comfy loveseat. This large, airy suite opens onto both the back and side
decks. Decorated in tranquil tones, The Devon has a Heat-N-Glo fireplace and offers
plenty of room to stretch out.
Rate: $169/night
The Cornwall— A short walk up the outside stairway brings you to your private deck
overlooking our pastures and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Inside, admire the views from
this second-story room, turn on your Heat-N-Glo fireplace, and relax! This spacious suite
offers a beautiful queen sleigh bed and warm random-width pine walls.
Rate: $169/night
The Merrifield—This suite is the only room entering from the second floor balcony
overlooking the living room's massive stone fireplace. To provide privacy, you can close
and lock the door from the balcony to your room. Admire panoramic views of the Blue
Ridge Mountains, horse pastures, and garden ponds. The room's soothing white-
washed cottage furnishings complement the natural random-width pine paneled private
bath.

When you are looking for Blue Ridge mountain cabins or Virginia cabin rentals, our
cottage suites are the perfect choice for secluded romantic Virginia getaways or families
needing extra space. They have been especially designed to accommodate guests who
want the utmost privacy or the flexibility of kitchen facilities. Breakfast is not included in
these rates.
During some periods, cottage suite rentals may require a two-night minimum stay.
Heron’s Nest— A truly unique, comfortable, and private retreat. Tucked into a separate
wing of our main stable with views of the paddock and riding ring, this cottage suite
provides the ultimate "get-away-from-it-all" experience. Done in rustic European style, it
features a living room with cathedral ceiling and sliding glass doors leading to your own
private porch, private outside entrance, separate bedroom with queen bed, and full bath
with shower. The living room has a sofa bed for kids or other traveling companions.

Mountain View— This sunny, quiet, and secluded second-floor suite has fabulous views
of the Blue Ridge Mountains from every window, but wait until you see the mountain and

with Heat-N-Glo fireplace and queen sofa bed, separate bedroom with queen bed, and

another plus for families. Four high windows let in plenty of light and sunshine, and two
picnic tables in a shady spot are close by outside.
