Wrigley House Bed and Breakfast ( South Park Brenham, Texas )
Built c.1920, Wrigley House is a delightful example of craftsmanship of days gone by.
Located only two blocks from Historic Downtown Brenham with its antique stores, shops and
restaurants it is the perfect base for exploring the Bluebonnet or Independence Trails, for access
to Round Top Antique Fairs and the many local festivals. Corporate travelers will enjoy wireless

About:
There has been a dwelling on the Wrigley House location since 1883 when the lot was
incorporated in the Old Town Survey,but the present house was built in 1919 by German
immigrants for their son, his wife and small daughter. The Schramm's were the saddlers and
ferriers in the town and their daughter, Ruby grew up in this house. The house is a beautiful
example of the era. From the solid oak and pine floors and five-panel doors, to tall windows and
deep baseboards and moldings, the house invokes memories of time gone by, when fine
craftsmanship was a matter of pride.
The wrap around front porch with plenty of seating and a comfy porch swing provides a place to
read about Historical Brenham and the Texas Independence Trail in books provided by the
Innkeeper. Browse the scrapbook containing photos and information about the former residents
of Wrigley House.
Leisure travelers looking for a centrally located week-end retreat and corporate travelers visiting

This elegant room has an elaborately carved Henri II queen bed which will make you feel like
royalty! There is a private bath with charming clawfoot tub and hand shower. Just a few steps from
the bedroom.
Rate: $100 week-days; $129 week-ends.
Blue Bonnet Room:
This room has a queen-size bed and is decorated with country French furnishings and fabrics of
toile, stripes and checks. The attached bathroom has a huge clawfoot tub complete with antique
look shower. Perfect for that long luxurious soak after a busy day of shopping and sight-seeing.
Rate: $100 week-days; $139 week-ends.
Independence Cottage:
The one bedroom cottage offers privacy and has a fully equipped kitchen and rain-shower
bathroom. The bedroom can be set up as two twin or king size bed. The living area has a
comfortable sofa bed with double mattress which allows the cottage to sleep up to four guests.
Perfect for girlfriend getaways and business travelers. Rate: $139 week-days; $159 week-ends.
La Bahia Lodge:
Previously a 3 stall horse barn, this new cottage is entirely re-built, but all the trim and cabinets
have been made from the beautiful old barn wood which gives this accommodation a
comfortable, rustic look with luxurious amenities. The living area has two twin-sized day beds as
well as a twin trundle, a seven foot 150 year old Irish pine work table and a full kitchen. The large
window looks over the Main House back garden. The bedroom has a beautiful queen-sized brass
bed. The bath sports antique look black and white subway tile, antique chandelier and sconces, a
deep soaking bath tub as well as a large walk-in rain shower.
Rate: $139 week-days; $159 week-ends.
Breakfast:
Wrigley House serves a delicious two course breakfast at 9am each morning of your stay in the
main house dining room. Alternatively, you may wish to have a hearty Continental breakfast left in
your room or cottage the night before so you can eat at your leisure. In either case, please let the
Innkeeper know your breakfast preference at least 24 hours before arrival. Every effort will be
made to accommodate your preference.
The host uses local produce and products whenever possible. Look for Chappell Hill sausages,
specially roasted Independence coffee, eggs from free range chickens kept by neighbors, fresh
vegetables, jams and jellies, and baked goods from the Brenham Farmer's Market. Please advise
the host of any dietary restrictions or dislikes before arrival so your needs can be accommodated.
Policies:
• Check-in times are from 3 -6pm. (Early or late arrival MUST be made in advance with the
Innkeepers).
• Check-out time is at 11am. (any extension to this MUST be made in advance with the
Inkeepers).
• For insurance purposes, no candles can be lighted on the property.
• Children over 12 years old are welcome when accompanied by adults.
• Pets cannot be accommodated.
• All guests must be registered.
• Wrigley House is a totally smoke-free establishment and this policy applies to all buildings
and on the grounds. Those who do not abide by the no smoking policy will have a $150 fee
charged to their registered credit card.
• Room rates are based on double occupancy and include a full breakfast. The charge for
each additional guest is $20.00. State and local occupancy taxes (13%) will be added to your final
bill. Cash, and MasterCard, Discover or Visa credit cards are accepted.
• A deposit of one night’s rate is required and must be paid in advance by cash, or credit card
(*See note below). Your reservation is considered confirmed when the deposit is received, and
the Innkeeper responds by mail or e-mail with a written confirmation.
• Refunds of deposits (less a $25.00 processing fee per room) will be given if notice of
cancellation is received at least 10 days prior to the reservation date (or, $25.00 per room
processing fee and at least 30 days prior notice is required for special event dates listed in the
note below). After the cut-off date, the total amount of the room charge is due. If you are unable to
stay with us, we will attempt to rent the room to another party and if successful, we will refund your
deposit less the processing fee.
• Weekday and corporate discount rates are available (Sunday - Thursday), but must be
arranged for at the time the reservation is confirmed (this doesn't show on the website).
Discounted rooms cannot be booked via the online booking system on the website. Long term
rates are also available. Special rates and minimum stay requirements may apply during area
events on holidays.
*Note - All reservations during the Round Top and area Antiques Festivals, Bluebonnet Festival,
and the Scarecrow Festival must be confirmed with payment in full prior to your stay.
Cancellations will result in the forfeiture of the entire payment, so please reserve carefully. We
believe you will understand this policy as these are our peak events. To make a reservation during
