continues to be recognized for its pampered lodging and great food.
Merridun is an elegant, yet comfortable, antebellum mansion that is always being restored to a
one-of-a-kind country inn in this small Southern College town. City close: Only a 5-minute walk
from downtown Union; yet, country quiet: The Inn is located in the center of nine wooded acres.
You'll sense the hospitality as you stroll up to the marbled verandas beneath the many white
Corinthian columns
Despite its initial overwhelming size, the mansion is cozy and inviting. You�ll feel at-once
welcome the moment the doors open. As you enter your senses may rush to drink in the
richness of the surroundings and Merridun's 155 year-old history: 14 foot ceilings with beautiful
crystal chandeliers, frescoes ceilings, and the stunning curved stairway. This is a special place !
You will be introduced to the rest of the home as your are escorted to your room. Whether here
for leisure or business, you can feel yourself relaxing already.
Late afternoons or early evening may find you in one of the parlors interacting with other guests
and sampling desserts from the kitchens of Merridun. Early the next morning a full country
gourmet breakfast awaits you as you plan your day in South Carolina: sightseeing, working,
shopping or just relaxing. If interested, dinners are also available most evenings for our
overnight guests, by prior reservation.
