De La Reguera House
The De La Reguera House was a year long restoration project of a 1938 storybook house. It is named for the original family that built the home with help from builder Louis Miramon. Miramon grew up in Gentilly during the Depression, an experience that his family said profoundly shaped him and helped create an incredible work ethic and a passion to create not just homes but communities. Jeannie & Craig are only the second owner of the home. Jeannie is a local and Craig is a U.K. transplant who also speaks fluent French. They know the city and are very involved with the local community. Jeannie founded a nonprofit in 1994 (Community Visions Unlimited) that helps restore neighborhoods through art, housing & empowerment. The latest project is the New Orleans Street Gallery. This takes ugly utility boxes and turns them into works of art. Jeannie & Craig will make sure you enjoy your stay in New Orleans and for a donation will take you on a neighborhood tour.
The De La Reguera House is a New Orleans Bed & Breakfast. It is a restored 1938 Deco Storybook house. Anyone who loves restoration will enjoy staying in this home. We take virtual credit cards for reservations if you want to use something other than paypal. Just give us a call 504-957-5542
