The Inn at Brandywine Falls, overlooking Brandywine Waterfall (a 67-foot natural wonder) in
the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, between Cleveland and Akron, was built in 1848 and is
on the National Register of Historic Places. It has been luxuriously renovated and made
modern; all without changing its historic Greek Revival appearance and character. It is
furnished in Ohio antiques, and features quality amenities (including free wireless internet)
and gourmet foods.
History of the Inn:
A little barn just behind the main house has been renovated and made into elegantly rustic
suites called "The Granary" and "The Loft". Each has a main floor and a sleeping loft.
The Inn is an impeccable Country Place and a part of the tapestry of 33,000 acres of
parkland (Cuyahoga Valley National Park) and adjacent to Brandywine waterfall. Built in
1848 as the home of James and Adeline Wallace, it was a centerpiece of the then thriving
community of Brandywine Mills. The Wallaces owned the mills as well as 800 acres of
land. Now their fine place provides six rooms for visitors, many with sitting areas and all
with well-appointed private baths. Each guest accommodation is distinct in Ohio historic
decor and ambiance.
The Inn's main house is also the home of Katie and George Hoy, who encourage guests to
enjoy the living room, library, dining rooms, porches and kitchen as they would the home of
good friends; along with the spacious grounds and surrounding parklands.
The Inn now offers FREE WIRELESS INTERNET.
Guests find the Inn by word-of-mouth or from newspaper and magazine articles, since the
Inn does no advertising. Most who come to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or whatever,
feel they have escaped the pressures of the "real world". Business and travel guests claim
they feel "at home".
Rooms:
The James Wallace Parlour is chosen by guests who enjoy historic elegance. There is a
double sleigh bed, axminister carpeting, shades painted to reflect historic nearby scenes,
and a private door to the spacious porch. This accommodation is on the first floor and is
barrier-free without appearing so.

Anna Hale's Garret is yet another romantic space, with the feeling of a hideaway. It is in the
eaves of the south wing, and has a small sitting room that can be used as a second
bedroom when families come. The bedroom itself, while small, has two double "cannon-
ball" beds covered with antique quilts. The ceilings slope downward, so this
accommodation is not recommended for very tall people (unless they enjoy ducking their
heads). There is a very convincing fireplace with no ashes!
