Welcome to The Moss House, Washington North Carolinas Premier Bed and Breakfast. Located
one block from the Pamlico River this beautiful 1902 Victorian home provides gracious
accommodations in the heart of historic downtown Washington. No fluff and frills, we have a
comfortable eclectic style with original artwork, antiques and coastal touches. A short walk leads to
the waterfront River walk, town docks, a sailing school and marina, specialty shops, wonderful art
galleries and a variety of restaurants. The Moss House is also on the city's self-guided historic
walking tour, books are provided by us for your use.
Inn Amenities:
The Moss House Bed and Breakfast features four comfortable guest rooms each with private bath,
as well as a cozy guest living room, and an elegant dining room. Family heirlooms, antiques and
collectables lend the interior accommodations an atmosphere of ease and grace; life around The
Moss House has an easy eclectic coastal style to relax in.
Most of the rooms have the original carved wooden mantles surrounding colorfully tiled hearths, and
the fireplaces, though no longer functional, recall the dedication to craftsmanship that was common
when the house was built a century ago.
When you wish for fresh air the veranda rockers, swing and adjacent garden offer a relaxing retreat,
as does the back porch furnished with white wicker seating.

“The Anchorage” This is a guest favorite! Our deep toned and spacious King bedroom with sitting
area and deluxe private bath, newly remodeled with glass and tile shower and cozy robes, has that
“spa feeling” for modern comfort – $135.00 per night
“The Estuary” This delightful room in yellows, greens and blues, offers a desk area and
comfortable seating as well as a Queen bed and a private bath with a stall shower - $110.00 per
night
“The Tar River Room” Our Cozy soft colored bedroom with a desk a reading chair and lamp and a
Queen bed has a private bath, with a stall shower and a large window for lots of natural light -
$110.00 per night
“The Pamlico River Room”, Our largest room filled with soothing light and a view to the garden has
a lovely sitting area with wing back chairs, a beautiful white iron King bed and a spacious master
bath with cozy robes, a tub/shower combo and double sinks - $135.00 per night
The option of “The Bridge Suite” combines two of our rooms- (The Tar and Pamlico River Rooms
adjoined through back to back closets). Two rooms, two beds, two baths, perfect for traveling
families! - $235.00 per night
Policies of The Moss House:
* Check-in: After 3:00 p.m.( we are happy to accommodate other check times if possible)
* Check-out: 11:00 a.m.
* Sorry, but we cannot accommodate pets.
* Well-behaved children over six years old are welcome.
* Smoking is restricted to the porches and garden for the comfort and safety of our guests.
* Only registered guests may stay in the rooms overnight
Cancellation Policies:
* We have a 72 hour cancellation policy.
*Group bookings and special events, require a 14-day cancellation notice.
*A credit card or a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to guarantee the
reservation.
*We reserve the right to charge the full amount of the reservation in the event of a no-show
