Maes B&B started over 10 years ago as one of the first B&B's in the city and over time it has
become famous for its hospitality and home ambience.
In quaint Jordaan
The private house, dating from the eighteenth century, has recently been renovated. The guest
rooms, located on the first and second floor, are quaint and comfortable. They are decorated
with an accent on a cosy home 'ambience.' Awaken to the smell of fresh croissants, which are
part of the extended continental breakfast. Complimentary coffee and tea are available
throughout the day in the guest kitchen on the first floor.
A Narrow Strip of Dutch Cool
That's what The New York Times called the Herenstraat! (..) the neighborhood became
increasingly trendy (...) the quaint streets of Herenstraat and Prinsenstraat began to buzz with
new energy. Trendy bars and innovative restaurants have opened. And a steady march of
independent boutiques is turning the area into one of the city’s coolest retail strips.

Apart from the Bed and Breakfast accommodation, Maes can also provide an apartment for
you. You have your choice of apartments in the Herenstraat where the B&B is located and
apartments on the closeby Keizersgracht. A few steps away in the Herenstraat is Herenstraat
B&B, offering apartments as well.

The hosts:
Ken Harrison, who grew up in Hawaii and California, has been a European citizen for more
than 20 years. He was a professional chef, with pastries as his speciality. His partner, Vladimir
Melnikov, a Russian living in Holland for over 12 years. He was a professional Modern dancer
and is an atlas of information on the performing Arts here in Holland and Europe.
Rooms:
The rooms are decorated with a character of their own. Both the Yellow and Red Rooms are
located on the street side and have bathrooms ensuite. You can enjoy the view of the boutiques
and shoppers during the day and the serenity of the city at night. After a wonderful nights' sleep,
awaken to the sound of birds and the smell of fresh coffee and croissants.
An extended continental breakfast is served in the guest kitchen. There you will also find
complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day.
The Apartments
We have a number of apartments for your upcoming stay in Amsterdam. All of them are located
in the Jordaan area: the bohemian part of the city centre and convenient to reach about anything
in the city: congress venues, cultural highlights, restaurants and bars. The apartments are
available for daily or weekly rental.
Discounts on rooms apartments for stays of over 7 nights or more. Please enquire for details.
No airline/industry discounts. Rates are non commissionable.
The minimum stay for apartments is three nights. For B&B rooms there is a minimum stay of
two nights. A deposit or credit card guarantee may be required when making a reservation.
Check out time is 11 am.
