Crocker House Country Inn- Quiet, 125 year old coastal country inn and restaurant on scenic
Hancock Point. 11 rooms, each with a private bath. Gourmet restaurant, full liquor license.
Open mid-April-New Year’s Eve. “A little out of the way, and way out of the ordinary”.Wi-Fi, AC,
Wine list.
The Crocker House Country Inn, tucked away on the peninsula of Hancock Point, was built in
1884 and carefully restored in 1986. Its quiet, out of the way location, fine cuisine and
individually appointed guest rooms, each with a private bath, all combine to make the Crocker
House a refreshing and memorable experience. Since purchasing the Inn in 1980, we have
strived to create an environment that is comfortable and rejuvenating.
Hancock Point is a small summer community where guests can experience a relaxing way of
life reminiscent of past memories. Within easy walking distance are an octagonal library, the
second smallest post office in the United States, a 100-year old summer chapel, and four clay
tennis courts. Bordered by Frenchman Bay on the south and east and the Skillings River to the
west, Hancock Point is small enough so that all roads lead to the water.
As is the tradition of country inns, each of the rooms at the Crocker House is unique. We have
eleven newly redecorated guest rooms, all suggesting the mood and style of a cherished era
gone by. There are 3 rooms with King sized beds, 6 with Queen sized beds, one room with 2
double beds and one room with 1 double bed. All rooms have a private bath with a shower and
an out-going telephone. Moorings are available for guests who arrive by sea, and a kayak and
a few bicycles are on hand for guests' convenience. The Inn is air conditioned.

The Restaurant:
Perhaps the most extraordinary feature of the Inn is its cuisine. While breakfast is reserved for
our guests, the dining room is open to the public for dinner. Selections from an ala carte menu
are prepared to order, including the garden fresh vegetables. Breads and desserts are made
daily in our kitchen. To compliment the evening fare, we offer an extensive wine and imported
beer list, as well as a fully stocked bar. We are open daily for dinner from May 1 to October 31,
and we are open Friday-Sunday in April, November and December. Reservations are
requested.
For the past 25 years, owner and sometimes chef Richard Malaby has been enticing food
lovers to his out-of-the-way restaurant again and again. He says that the simple and elegant
fare and the comfortable setting are what keep diners coming back year after year.

opportunities in Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Hancock County and the rest of Downeast

weavers and woodworkers are found throughout the area. Antiquing opportunities, like lobster
pounds, abound. Information regarding symphony and chamber concerts, auctions, plays and
community events is available in our lobby. In addition, Campobello Island and the Canadian
