The Story
Ed and Judy Hemmingsen are not new to the innkeeping business. They built the Bluenose
Inn, a 97-room luxury hotel in Bar Harbor, Maine,near Acadia National Park. The Bluenose
Inn's Rose Garden Restaurant was one of only 41 AAA-FIVE DIAMOND award recipients in
North America.The diamonds reflect Ed and Judy's love of the innkeeping business.
In 2000, they sold the Bluenose, retired to Belfast, Maine, bought a Main Street building and
transformed it into the Belfast Bay Inn & Luxury Suites. The 2-year renovation project
produced a beautiful, upscale end result to the two historic mid-1800's pair of row houses:
eight exquisite guest suites in a quiet little city by the ocean. All near some of the best scenic
coastline in all of Maine.
In-Suite Therapeutic Massage:
The simple effects of touch are healthy. After receiving massage therapy you will experience
a feeling of well being, increased energy and overall balance. Massage Therapy systemically
affects the physiological processes of your body. The flowing techniques of Swedish
Massage will relax your nervous system, detoxify and rejuvenate your body. Deep Tissue
techniques are effective in relieving localized tension and chronic pain. Scalp, Neck and
Shoulder massage can activate the endocrine system to relax your entire body. Extremity
massage is surprisingly relaxing thus increasing the flow of circulation through your body.

Your therapist will customize your massage based on your expressed needs.

When you both want a massage and you are limited with time, divide the time. Each person
will receive focused attention on areas specified by you.

Comfortable clothing can be worn for this service. Experience deep relaxation and peace of
mind.

Chair Massage
A special massage chair is used. Focus is on the head, neck, back, and arms. Comfortable
clothing is recommended. Time can be shared between several people.

their annual New Year's Eve Party. Tickets are limited so call early to reserve your space.
