Chez Palmiers Bed and Breakfast ( New Orleans, LA )
Chez Palmiers is the expression of its owners' love for New Orleans and their desire to be part of
this great city's recovery.
Located in the historic Faubourg Marigny just two blocks from the French Quarter and four blocks
from Frenchman Street (popular with the neighborhood's locals), you'll be within easy walking
distance of many of the sites, restaurants, bars and clubs, and the characters and music that
have made New Orleans famous. Public transportation is not far way, making it easy to explore
other parts of the city as well.
Owner operators Schuyler Hoffman and David Peterson invite you to relax and enjoy your stay in
New Orleans in their traditional Creole Cottage. Originally built in the late 1800's, it was renovated
in the mid 1990's. What we have tried to create is a home, not just bedrooms for guests—it is,
after all, our home. Furnishings are a mix of some of our favorite antiques and newer things—
interesting pieces we find at yard sales, hidden antique shops, and such. Each room contains
personal photographs and artwork, and memorabilia and chatkas we've accumulated and carried
around with us over the years. Everyone looking for a bed and breakfast looks for a place that fits
their personality, a place they'll be comfortable in for more than just sleeping each night. We hope
many of you will find that place with us.
We invite you to spend your mornings, afternoons, and evenings on the deck by the pool—
although we often find ourselves chatting with guests in the kitchen. Following a day of touring
around the city, shopping in the French Quarter and on Magazine Street, visiting the famous
Audubon Zoo and Aquarium, or after an evening of dining and nightlife, dangle your tired feet in
the water or go for a swim and cool off before retiring to your private, air conditioned room and a
good night's sleep in one of our comfy queen-size beds.
The Rooms:
Chez Palmiers (House of Palms) offers three different rooms, all with queen beds, private baths,
and in-room amenities to make your stay with us more enjoyable. You'll have your own TV and air
conditioner, a mini-fridge as well as open access to the kitchen and dining room leading to the
pool. A continental breakfast is available each morning including yogurt, fruit, cereals, breads,
juice and coffee. An espresso machine is available for those who crave a latté or café au lait. We
also offer free, secure WIFI Internet access. (By city ordinance, B&B's our size are not permitted to
serve prepared meals.)
The Grande Suite:
The Grande Suite offers roomy accommodations with one-bedroom, large bathroom with vanity
area, and a separate sitting room. This charming suite includes the amenities mentioned above,
a closet, and sitting room with a sofa sleeper. You'll be able to enjoy your breakfast in private, or
relax and watch TV comfortably in the serenity of this personal space. The Grande Suite sleeps
one to four people. Rates and reservations below.
The Blah Blah Room:
Located on the first floor...The Blah Blah room! You'll dream the night away comfortably in your
bed, cooled by the in-room air conditioner. You can unwind watching TV in bed or from the sitting
chairs in the room. There's an antique secretary, perfect for your laptop and catching up on
emails—telling your friends how great Chez Palmiers is. The single window ensures you'll be
able to sleep as long as you like with as little light intrusion as possible. The bathroom for this
room was recently remodeled with new tile, lighting, and a wardrobe closet. The kitchen is just
one door away, and the pool easily accessible through the common dining room. The Blah Blah
room accommodates one to two guests. Rates and reservations below.
The Loft Suite:
This upstairs space has been transformed into a roomy, private suite. Enjoy breakfast in your
room, or join other guests in the dining room or on the poolside deck. Freshly furnished and
decorated, the Loft Suite offers you the space and privacy you deserve after a long day of site
seeing. The unique writing secretary provides room for your laptop or stationary. You can read
through all the tourist pamphlets while relaxing in the separate sitting area. The conversation
area, with drop-leaf table, provides the space to share your morning coffee with your companion.
The additional sitting area has room for you to stretch out and relax (or accommodate and
additional friend) without having to lay on the bed. The Loft can accommodate one to three

Our Reservation, Cancellation, and House Policies:
RESERVATION POLICY: We will charge your credit card one night's rate when your reservation is
confirmed. If you are reserving less than seven days prior to your arrival, the full amount will be
charged when the reservation is confirmed. Please note: The balance due will be charged to your
credit card seven days prior to your arrival; Full payment for Special Events/Holidays, Mardi Gras
and Jazz Fest, and when booking all three rooms is required at least 30 days in advance of the
arrival date.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If your reservation is canceled by 6:00 p.m. Central Time at least 14
days prior to check-in date, we will refund your deposit, minus a $25.00 cancellation fee. Your
deposit will not be refunded if cancelled after that time. The entire stay will be charged to your
credit card for cancellations made seven days or less prior to arrival, unless we are able to re-
book the room. There is no credit for late arrivals or early departures. For Special Events/Holidays,
Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, and when booking all three rooms where full payment is required at
least 30 days in advance of the arrival date, there is no refund for cancellation less than 30 days,
unless we are able to re-book the room(s). Please note: This is our home. There will be no
refund if you are asked to leave the premises for violation of any house rules or for conducting
yourself in a way that is illegal or that interferes with the comfort or enjoyment of other guests. We
reserve the right to refuse or terminate accommodations to anyone.
ARRIVAL TIME: Please specify an arrival time as realistic as possible. We are not a hotel and are
not available 24/7. We cannot always be available for late check-ins or if you arrive later than you
originally informed us. We ask that you update us with your arrival time at least 48 hours in
advance.
OUTSIDE GUESTS: For your safety and house security, we do not permit unregistered guests in
the rooms and especially not to stay overnight. If you invite friends over, please let us know first
and be sure they understand you are staying in a bed and breakfast where there may be other
guests and the owners live on the premises.
SMOKING POLICY: All guest rooms and indoor areas of the house are non-smoking. Smoking is
permitted on the deck and in the yard as long as it does not interfere with the enjoyment of our
other guests. Burning candles or incense in guest rooms or common areas of the house is
prohibited.
PETS AND CHILDREN: Sorry, no pets allowed. Families with children 13 or older are welcome.
Children younger than 13 may be allowed if the group is booking all three rooms.
BREAKFAST: A continental breakfast is available each morning. By city ordinance, B&B's in New
Orleans are not permitted to serve prepared meals.
