Haiku Plantation Inn ( HAIKU : MAUI, HAWAII )
It is here.. at Haiku Plantation Inn.. that we invite you to journey back to the yesteryear of  
old Hawaii. This gracious plantation home, built in the 1870's for Maui's first sugar
plantation doctor, retains most of its original architecture and historic grounds. Set
among the charm of Maui's historic plantation townes and the magnificent beauty of
upcountry, today the old plantation home serves as Maui's original and truly Hawaiian
Bed and Breakfast Inn.

The Inn's Beginnings:   Opened as Maui's first and original bed and breakfast in 1986,
the Inn is lovingly restored and reflects its heritage and place in the Hawaiian culture.   
Here, guests can escape the crowds and relax in an unspoiled tropical atmosphere
while exploring the many activities our island has to offer. The Inn's central location is
perfect for exploring Maui.


Optional Amenities:  Hawaiian & spiritual practitioners provide cultural activities,
concepts of organic farming, traditional wellness services, and sustainability for an
improved enviroment.    

Sightseeing and Activities:  We will be happy to guide our guests in their selections of
Maui activities while visiting this beautiful island  

Breakfast at the Plantation:

Morning breakfasts: we feature local grown produce, fresh bakery delights, home-made
jams, brewed Maui coffee and teas, delicious tropical juices, all served along with our
normal continental fare.  The table is set with grandmother's vintage dishes and guests
delight in conversation. It's a great way to begin your day with the wonderful flavors and
music of our islands.

Intimate Country Inn

An initimate Inn with only five guest suites, Haiku Plantation Inn is a large and traditional
plantation home. Guests share spacious living, dining and ohana rooms along with our
large sun deck, front porch lanai and grounds.

A charming country inn, lovingly restored with its vintage Maui pine floors, tall 12 foot
ceilings, and original plantation windows.  Our guests continuously remark how
enjoyable it is to explore and see this old wonderful home.

Room Amenities:  private bath, fluffly white towels, Hawaiian bath products, filtered water,
 maid service, turn down service, hair dryers


Inn Amenities:  hot tub, private 2 acre grounds, cable TV, video and reading library,
stereo, free parking, wireless internet access, guest living and ohana rooms, guest
refrigerator, breakfast daily, tea counter, traditional Hawaiian wellness services
avaialable, estate tour, activity and restaurant recommendations, 5 minute walk to town.

Rooms:

Haiku Suite : This suite's large original plantation windows open to spectacular views of
our beautiful Hawaiian gardens and secluded grounds. Fragrant breezes and the glow of
starlight nights bring us many returning guests to the Haiku suite.       

Our largest original plantation room, this suite is dressed in soothing tones of blue, and
sits adjacent to the main living and ohana rooms.  It has a small sitting area with wicker
chairs for visitors or a great location to explore the many books within its library
bookshelves.

Room Amenities: * Queen size beautyrest bed, Fluffy pillows, 1930 vintage comforters,
Large private bath, Double set of original plantation windows, Ceiling fan, Wicker seating
area, Library  

Aloha Suite : The Aloha's suite's options of either a California king or two twin beds
makes this room versitile for families and couples alike. The room's privacy is created by
the lovely view of our banana patch.  Imagine, bananas growing right outside your
plantation window. A treat for many of our guests, who choose to stay in this very
romantic vintage Hawaiian room.

Hawaiian quilts, Hawaiiana and vintage art, Plantation windows, Wicker seating area,

Maui Suite: Our lovely Maui suite is vintage Hawaiian decorated with an art deco feel, a
beautiful art deco mirror, Hawaiian style antiques, vintage quilts, and with its Hawaiian
art, this guest suite speaks of old Hawaii.  A favorite with returning couples and our best
value room, with seating area for conversations or a place to reflect.  Located just off the
main Ohana area, the Maui suite provides a quiet place for relaxation.

Hawaiian art, quilts and decorations, private bath, Wicker seating area, ceiling fan

Plumeria Suite: Our romantic Plumeria suite with its large master bath is the perfect
place for a romantic getaway.  Dressed in colors of plum and lavenders with beautiful a
Hawaiian quilt, our latest addition reflects the casual elegance of island life. Large
plantation windows open to our beautiful gardens which blend straight into the rooms
tropical decor. The original bedroom for the doctor's children now serves at the master
bath for this very special suite. With its 12 ft ceiling, original claw foot tub and lovely
garden views the suite whispers of sweet memories.  



The Plumeria master suite with its location just off the back entrance is only steps to our
lovely garden hot tub, or Hawaiian wellness cottage.  Here and within the beautiful
gardens, Hoola Hou offers private sessions with traditional practitioners for services
such as : lomi lomi massage, Awa ceremonies or even traditional Hawaiian blessings

Ohana Room:

Option rental: Adjacent ohana room, provides additional space creating a mini-suite with
separate living room, bedroom and bath.  A great way for families or couples to add that
extra private space.  Cable tv, stereo, seating area, queen size sleeper sofa.

of plantation windows, ceiling fan, private master bath, shower, claw foot tub, rear house

Island Activities:

Maui island, voted best island to visit, is the playground for our great whales during
migration in the winter and has so much to offer for our visitors:

A few options for your vacation include:   whale watch, golf (closes course approximately
10 minutes), snorkel,  scuba, sightseeing,  historcial museums, beachcombing, star
gaze, culturual and eco tours, boat and snorkel cruises, submarine rides, horseback
rides, ATV's , zip runs, cave exploring, sunrise at the summit, Lahaina Whaling Village,
great shopping, art galleries, fine boutiques and even swap meets.     

The estate is located close to all Maui activities, and particularily those mentioned
above....  yet miles away in atmosphere and culture from the resorts and crowds.  True to
its existence and place in Hawaiian history, the plantation and estate brings the real
Hawaiian experience to our guests.
