When did you have that sensation for the last time?
Still unspoiled and calm, but in the heart of the Provence. Pierre de Lune (The
Moonstone) is situated on the hilly countryside among forests, wheat fields, vineyards
and at only 14 km from the Regional Wildlife Parc Verdon. Authentic Provencal villages
with squares with plane trees and their colourful markets are surrounding the place.
Waking up hearing the birds singing. Comfortable rooms with king size beds (160x210)
except Cassiopiea which bed is just a little smaller (140 x 200), each equipped with their
own shower and toilet and with enough space to be yourself. Not only the personal touch
of the rooms but the welcome and the personal contact will make a clear difference from
a hotel.
Breakfast is royal and will have and extra "country touch" because of the home made
jams and marmalades, honey from the region, fruit, fresh bread, cheese and a lot more.
Evening meals "table d'hôtes" can be a pleasant moment of meeting with the other
guests in an relaxed ambiance and to discover local dishes and wines.
You will not find any pictures of a sky-blue swimming pool here. We live in a region
where you might expect such a thing but we wanted to maintain the authenticity and
especially the calm of this place. There are of course swimming possibilities nearby and
we are willing to show you nice pools, lovely beaches on the lake side or the nice
beaches on the coast.
Relax in the garden, sitting under the almond tree enjoying the stunning view over the
valley or enjoy the many possibilities this region can offer. A visit of the "Gorges du
Verdon", the colourful Provencal markets in one of the nearby villages as Aups, Barjols,
Cotignac, Salernes, Lorgues or Moustiers, a concert in the open air, a museum or one of
the cities as Aix-en-Provence, Marseille or Nice are just a few examples from a long list....

You will not find any pictures of a sky-blue swimming pool here. We live in a region
where you might expect such a thing but we wanted to maintain the authenticity and
especially the calm of this place. There are of course swimming possibilities nearby and
we are willing to show you nice pools, lovely beaches on the lake side or the nice
beaches on the coast.
From our backyard, you'll have this view over the valley. The wheat fields during spring
and summer and the red ploughed fields in autumn and winter. Further away, having a
clear sky, you can see the snowy mountains of the southern Alps during winter. Closer by
are the "Gorges du Verdon" (Europe's most famous canyon) or the lovely village "in the
sky" called Tourtour.
The tower of the ancient stone pigeon house has its own terrace and the view over the
valley. You can as well enjoy that view sitting under the almond tree, reading or sipping a
glass of rosé.
The garden surrounding the house is about 5000 square meters. A few old oaks, the
almond tree and a few fruit trees will give a nice shadow during the hottest days in
summer. We planted another few fruit- and olive trees to complete it. You'll find places to
relax in the sun or in shade all over.
The terrace on the south side near "Capricorn" is a meeting point in the morning while
having breakfast or in the late afternoon enjoying an "aperitif" together or while having a
"table d'hôtes" (evening meal) with the other guests.
From sunrise until sunset, a fascinating full moon or a sky covered with stars, all these
natural phenomena that we take for granted or that we can not enjoy very often, make
Pierre de Lune magic, a place that you won't forget easily.
Rooms:
Cassiopeia is a cosy double room with its own shower, wash basin and toilet. From
there you'll have a stunning view over the valley. The room is independent and built
against the ancient stone pigeon house. The pigeon house is one of the oldest buildings
in this region and is built in 1686. Double bed 140x200.
Cassini is a spacious comfortable double room decorated with a large sofa that can be
used as a real 3rd bed (90x200). The room has its own shower, wash basin and
separate toilet. King size bed 160x210.
Callisto is also a spacious double room. The room is very light because of the large
window and the glazed doors. From this room you have a view over the garden, the
ancient pigeon house and the valley. The room has its own bathroom with shower and
two wash basins and separate toilet. King size bed 160x210.
Copernic is a cosy spacious twin bedded room. It has its own sitting area and through
the glass doors you have a view on the garden and the ancient pigeon house. The room
has its own shower, wash basin and toilet. Twin beds 90x210.
At your arrival, the beds are made and a set of bath linen is at your disposal. For
environmental reasons, we decided to change the towels every 2 days instead of every
day. We request you kindly not to use the towels furnished in the rooms when you go
swimming in a pool, lake or the sea. If needed we can provide you with other towels.
In our house are a few rules:
* The rooms are available from 16.00.
* We ask you to leave the room at 10.00.
* Payment by credit card is not possible.
* Smoking is not allowed in the rooms and in the house.
* Pets are not allowed.
* Table d'hôte (dinner) on request only.
