Coombs House Inn ( Apalachicola, Florida )
The Coombs House Inn is an elegant historic inn located in the picturesque seaside village of
Apalachicola, Florida, only minutes from the pristine white beaches of breathtaking St. George
Island, Cape San Blas and Mexico Beach. This distinguished small luxury hotel is one of the
leading destinations in Florida's northwest "Forgotten Coast". Built at the turn of the century this
romantic vacation retreat is filled with the owner's collection of antique furnishings, oil paintings,
oriental carpets and has fifteen of the original fireplaces. This relaxing getaway is comprised of
three Victorian Mansions, the "Mansion", the "Villas", and the boutique "Veranda Suites". The
twenty three beautiful guest rooms and suites each have their own individual characteristic
decor. This romantic, boutique getaway has four-poster beds with luxurious "heavenly" bedding
and all have private bathrooms, of which seven have oversized jacuzzi tubs and five are relaxing
soaking tubs. Our lodging guestrooms have sun-drenched original bay windows, some with
antique or leaded glass, many overlooking our peaceful gardens or with private tranquil
verandas where guests can enjoy complimentary afternoon tea and fresh baked cookies. A stay
at this unique Florida Bed and Breakfast includes delicious full breakfasts, beach chairs, towels,
umbrellas, and bicycles for touring the historic home district of which the Inn is a part. Weekend
and holiday complimentary wine tastings give our guests an opportunity to meet prior to dining
in one of our many fine waterfront seafood restaurants where our local specialty of fresh oysters
are prepared one of twenty eight different ways. Walk or bike to nearby boutique shops or the
many intriguing historic museums. Tour the area's fascinating four original lighthouses,
participate in our superb fishing and kayaking, or take the family for beach horseback riding or
on a sunset sailing cruise on Apalachicola Bay. Whether watch for dolphins, butterflies or birds,
