Churchill Manor is a magnificent three-story mansion that was built in 1889 for a lwealthy ocal
banker, and was the first residence in the Napa Valley to be listed on the National Register of
Historic Places. It sits in a secluded one-acre estate setting on a quiet tree-lined residential
street, just one block south of Downtown Napa. Guests can walk to restaurants, tasting rooms,
the Oxbox Marketplace, and the Napa Valley Opera House.
The 10,000 square-foot mansion offers ten luxuriously appointed guest rooms, with lots of
roomy common areas for socializing or for finding that private nook to snuggle up with a good
book and a glass of wine. All of the guest rooms feature fireplaces, and several boast two-
person showers along with period two-person soaking tubs. European antiques complement
the exquisite architecture. Fluted columns of solid redwood trees which have never been painted
adorn the front parlors, along with an stunning marbled-floored solarium muraled in original
vineyard artwork which overlooks the side garden. An enormous wrap-around porch surrounds
three sides of the mansion and is furnished with clusters of wicker furniture as well as tables
and chairs for al fresco dining.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted with freshly-baked cookies each afternoon, a two-hour wine and
appetizer reception each evening with local wineries often pouring specialty wines, and a
gourmet three-course breakfast presented each morning during a leisurely 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
time period. A delicious buffet of sweet and savory breads, yoghurt, granola, juice, and coffee/tea
begins the morning fare, which is followed by an individually served fruit course, and lastly by a
choice between two changing hot entree specialties.
A round of croquet in the garden, or a tour around the historic neighborhood on one of Churchill
Manor's tandem bicycles enhances the charm of a guest stay at the Manor. Plenty of
complementary off-street parking is provided.
Our innkeepers are friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable when it comes to assisting guests
with planning their visits to wineries, restaurants, or among the many other activities available in
