Take a step back in time as you explore the beautifully restored landmark property, The Albert
Shafsky House. In the heart of California Gold Country, Historic Placerville, CA, this lovely Queen Ann
Victorian Bed and Breakfast is the perfect setting for your El Dorado County escape.
The Rooms:
We offer three deluxe guest rooms, each with its own theme and private bath.
Nightly rates include El Dorado Wine and a cheese plate upon check-in and a hearty breakfast each
morning.
The Vinevard Room:
Inspired by the lush vineyards of the El Dorado County Wine Country, The Vineyard Room is located
on the main floor of the Albert Shafsky House. With a nod to deep, red wines, the lush burgundy
décor is only to be out-done by the hand-carved rose-and-leaf medallion of the king bed headboard.
Walls are adorned by a variety of works from local artists. The private bathroom has a tub/shower
and a pedestal sink. Pop the cork and relax and romance over a glass of fine wine.

The Gandy Dancer Room:
Feel the romance of the rails as this delightful room charms you with a whimsical view of the past
and present of railroading. Colorful train and railroad artifacts and memorabilia throughout the room
lend an appealing air in this space of calming shades of soft green. This room features a queen bed
with a magnificent hand-carved "La Fontana" headboard, an antique sink and private shower. Ride
the rails in comfort and style!

Alberta's Attic:
Alberta Shafsky, the eldest daughter of Albert, was a bit of a collector in her own right. This lovely two-
room suite features pieces that might have belonged in her private collection including a Hoosier, a
sewing machine and dress form, a carved-wood armoire and a variety of steamer trunks. A beautiful
four-poster queen bed with old-fashioned steps commands attention in the bedroom. Light dances
through the elegant stained-glass window and forms a rainbow of magical colors in the private
bathroom, which is completed with a tub/shower.

Our Policies:
At the time of reservation we secure an advance payment equal to one night's stay plus tax. The
balance is due upon arrival.
Due to our intimate size, any cancellations affect us significantly. Consequently we adhere to a strict
cancellation policy. If you must cancel your reservation, notify us 14 days prior to your arrival to
receive a refund of your advance payment less a $25. administration fee. If you are unable to cancel
your reservation at least 14 days prior to your stay, you are obligated to the entire amount of your stay.
Your advance payment will only be returned if we are able to re-book your room. All cancellations
and/or changes to reservations must be made via phone with one of the Innkeepers of the Albert
Shafsky House.
No-show reservations will be charged the full booking amount.
All rates are subject to a 10% City Tax.
We are a non-smoking inn.
There is a $15.00 charge for lost or unreturned keys.
We have a two-night minimum on weekends and holidays, but give us a call just in case-we may be
able to squeeze you in.
Although we love pets, Lilly. our resident dachshund, doesn't enjoy sharing her space with other
pets, so we are unable to accommodate them at the inn.
Check-in time is between 4 and 7 p.m. With advance notice, we are pleased to accommodate late
check-ins. Please contact us regarding arrangements.

“The breakfasts are out of this world, always providing good ideas for dishes for entertaining at
