History:
Our ranch was originally built in the early 1900s and began its life as a cattle ranch. The
original property was constructed of Mexican adobe brick made of mud, straw, and other
materials. A small part of this adobe has been left exposed in the ranch dining room. From
the 1930s to the 1960s the ranch changed from a cattle ranch and turkey farm to a guest
ranch owned by a Chicago liquor store proprietor.
The ranch changed hands a few times until it was purchased by Allen and Cynthia True from
Denver, Colorado. The purchase consisted of 17 rooms, 17 horses and 200 acres. As
Tucson began to grow the Trues had the foresight to buy the surrounding land expanding the
ranch to the 3,000 acres that it is today. Allen and Cynthia dedicated their lives to the ranch
and to raising their two sons Russell and Michael who are the current owner/operators of the
ranch.
