Ketchikan, Alaska’s Black Bear Inn is perfectly located on the waterfront just four miles north of the
heart of town and midway between the area’s most popular attractions. Completed in 2007, this
Elegant Bed and Breakfast and Luxury Vacation Rental was designed for guest’s privacy and
relaxation. Its unique furnishings, tasteful decor and numerous amenities can only be matched by
the finest of hotels. All of the Black Bear Inn’s rooms have stunning views of the Tongass
Narrows. Alaska’s best artists are featured throughout the Inn. Sirius satellite surround sound
greets the guests upon arrival and free high speed Wireless Internet is available everywhere on
the property.
The Black Bear Inn is ideal for, short-term stays by guests who are departing on, or returning from
other Alaskan adventures or longer stays by travelers who choose Ketchikan for their Alaska
Adventure. Arrival and departure transportation is provided.

BEARS DEN Bedroom
• The Bears Den is in the middle of the house on the first floor with easy access for those with
limited mobility.

• Five-foot sliding glass doors lead to a deck overlooking the water.

• There is a flat panel TV and DVD and free high speed Internet wireless.
• The large private bath features an over-sized deep soaking tub and shower, two sinks and a
makeup area.
• The bathrooms porcelain tile work is outstanding.
• A coffee maker, hair dryer, toiletries and more is provided.
• The covered porch has a table for 2 and a refrigerator.

RAVENS HAVEN Bedroom
• The Ravens Haven is perfect for honeymooners.
• This second floor room has 6 ft sliding glass doors and a covered balcony with a spiral
staircase that leads to the first floor deck and on to the water’s edge.
• The porch has a table for two and a refrigerator.
• The room has a memory foam / pillow top California King Bed, a beautifully designed corner
fireplace, 6 ft. wide mirrored closet doors, and is decorated in lavenders, purples and shadow
beige.
• One of Fred Machetanz’s best polar bear paintings hangs above the bed.
• Quality bedding and several different pillows to choose from.
• There is a flat screen TV and DVD and high speed Internet wireless.
• The attached private bath has a coffee maker, a high cathedral ceiling with a large skylight, a
glass walk in shower and decorative porcelain tile on the counters and floor.
• Terry bath robes, hair dryer, toiletries and more are provided.

HOMESTEAD Bedroom
• The Homestead, our largest guest bedroom, is dedicated to the host’s great grand parents,
Harriet and Forest Hunt who came to Alaska in 1898. It is on the far end of the first floor and has
easy access.
• The room has a memory foam / pillow top queen size and full size bed,
with room for two single air-beds, when needed.
• There is an award-winning fireplace built into one wall across from two 5 ft mirrored closets.
There is a writing desk next to the fireplace.
• 6 ft sliding glass doors lead to a deck that overlooks the harbor.
• The covered porch has a table for 6 and a refrigerator.
• The room is richly appointed in muted shades of gold, mauve, and apricot, with fine linens and
quality furniture.
• There is a flat screen TV and DVD and high speed Internet wireless.
• The walls feature family photos from the turn of the century and other interesting memorabilia.
• Quality bedding and several different pillows to choose from.
• Terry bath robes, hair dryer and toiletries provided.
• The large private bath has a deep, over-sized soaking tub and shower, and two sinks.

• The Northern Frontier is on the second floor on the far end of the house.
• Six-foot sliding glass doors open onto a private covered balcony that is perfect for outdoor dining
and watching sunset. There is a table for four and a refrigerator.
• The room has memory foam/pillow top queen size bed, plush furnishings, an elegant wall
fireplace, and is decorated in the warm floral tones of summer.
• Quality bedding and several different pillows to choose from.
• The connecting private bath has a coffee maker, a skylight over the sink, a glass walk- in
shower, lots of mirrors and decorative tile on the counters and floor.
• Terry bath robes, hair dryer and toiletries provided.
• There is a flat screen TV and DVD and high speed Internet wireless.
• There is a spiral staircase so you can enter and leave your room from the porch.

EAGLES NEST APARTMENT Vacation Rental
• The Eagles Nest is located on the top floor of the Black Bear Inn. It has its own private entrance
and covered porch at the front of the Inn.
• This private one-bedroom luxury suite is decorated in shades of blue, tan and cream.
• The suite features the artwork of Fred Machetanz, Sidney Laurence and Nathalie Parenteau.
• The kitchen has a gathering table for 4 and living area had 2 leather love seats and a flat panel
TV.
• Decorative Italian porcelain and travertine adorn the kitchen counters, the bathroom, the laundry
room and the front foyer.
• The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals.
• The eating area and living area have hard wood floors, large wrap-around windows overlooking
the ocean and mountains, and a freestanding propane fireplace.
• Bald Eagles perch on Spruce trees right outside the windows. Unforgettable sunsets can be
seen from all the rooms.
• The bedroom has plush carpet, a flat panel TV, two memory foam / pillow top double beds, and
can accommodate one to four guests.
• A private phone line, DVD and VCR players, a radio with CD player, and wireless high speed
Internet are provided.
• Smoking is permitted on the closed-in front porch.

BUNKHOUSE CABIN Vacation Rental
• The Bunkhouse is a very romantic private cabin that sets beside the main house and overlooks
the Tongass Narrows. It was originally floated to the property in 1940 from a cannery camp up
north and opened for guests in July of 2007.
• The cabin walls are finished in white-washed red cedar and the floors are done in porcelain,
travertine and slate.
• The main room has a memory foam / pillow top queen bed, a fireplace, a ceiling fan, and a
eating and sitting area.
•Sirius satellite surround sound, cable TV, and high speed wireless Internet are provided.
• There are large picture windows overlooking the water.
• There is a small kitchenette with everything you need for a quick meal.
• The beautiful bathroom has a great travertine walk-in shower, hair dryer, toiletries and more.
• The entry room has a memory foam single captains bed and a beautiful view of the rock gardens.
• The open sun deck runs across the front of the cabin and is a great place to set and enjoy the
Inside Passage.
• A pet may be excepted with prior approval.

Polices:
• Check In is 3:00 PM and Check Out is 11:00 AM unless other arrangements are made.
• Early arrivals may drop off their luggage after 8:00 AM.
• Late arrivals need to notify the Inn in advance. If you arrive after 9:00 PM the front door will be
open. There will be a note on the door indicating where your room is located.
• Arrangements must be made in advance for children to stay at the Inn.
• With some restrictions a pet can be excepted in the Bunkhouse Cabin. A small cleaning fee
and deposit are charged.
